So a few months ago before the Thrashbike jam at the banks, Anson showed up at the shop with a wayward Kid with little more than a janky ride, funny accent, and a return ticket back to England... and he cleaned up at the banks.

He was as stoked with our bikes as we were with his riding, and after a few chats with our welder Seth, he got set up to test out a one off MCL frame- an ACL frame with 135 spacing so Dan can run his disk/ freecoaster hub.
He sent us an update of how he's getting along on the new ride and we're well impressed with what he's doing already.

The ACL is available now as a production frame, just give us a call here at the shop for color options and lead time and we'll get you sorted.

Fall temperatures have officially settled on the East coast making for perfect riding weather. We had all three of the new Brooklyn gravity frames on the mountain this weekend, taking advantage of the short lift lines and season pass sale at Diablo Freeride Park.

October in Brooklyn is also that time of celebration of all things good with two wheels...Bike Kill.

In his latest win, Brooklyn Machine Works rider and working NYC messenger Austin Horse bombed the entirety of Broadway from the Bronx down to the financial district's most iconic statue to claim his cash monies.

For those of you who have noticed, Austin's new bike is the very latest production model of the Gangsta Track, lovingly sanded and polished by the man himself (It's the newschool counterpart to shaving your legs).

For all other Gangsta orders, our stock colors for October are Black and Road Cone Orange. As always, custom colors start a Benjamin.

Hey, everybody. Sorry for the delay, we've been calibrating our sine waves...
With new tools, new toys, and new production, things have been buzzing at the shop. Expect updates on what we've been working on this past crazy month, including our third DH rig of the year, the new shorty 8 prototype which will be hitting the lifts in a hot minute.

For all of our other production models, we're taking orders now with lead times well before the holiday shopping curve.

We hope everyone out there has an excellent long weekend out on the trails and street, except for you, Richard Fuld (you + economies=fail).

After dozens of requests, we've finally released a limited run of the new 50 cm Gangsta Tracks- a longer, taller, gangstaer, version of our track frame, akin in fit to a square 57/58cm.

For everyone in the Tri-State news area (regardless of what size Brooklyn they ride) remember that our newly bike friendly mayor Michael Bloomberg has, amazingly, asked citizens of New York City to join a social experiment and reclaim city streets this summer. Tomorrow and next Saturday, Park Avenue from 79th street down Lafayette to the Brooklyn Bridge will be entirely closed to cars, trucks, and commercial traffic, allowing free reign for bikes and foot traffic.
With another million people expected to flock to the city in the next five years, it's an exceptional step forward to help visualize what life in New New York can be.

While freebies are always appreciated, the visit made us appreciate another aspect of life here at the shop: When it's 95 degrees outside you're likely never going to have to wear a suit, tie, or giant insulated beverage cooler strapped to your back.

Thrash Bike.

The boys at the new Thrashbike.com are throwing down in the city this weekend, sessioning all the major spots (and a few hidden ones) before heading to the Brooklyn Banks on Sunday for a an open street MTB jam.
Expect to see Brooklyn representing on the banks and in the judging tables, scoping out the talent and working in the latest versions of the ACL. See you there.

Courier Classic

Last Saturday the city was host to the biggest inaugural alleycat of the year- the Courier Classic where teams of three riders and a dispatch raced for cash and the title of the fastest team of messengers in New York.

There was a lot of Redbull, hauled in by lots of Redbull Girls.

Early on one team started to show their dominance, and continued to pull ahead after four straight hours of racing. Each of the three winning racers rode handbuilt frames all designed, tested, and built in house, including (of course) our rider Austin Horse, who has been rocking it all year on his Gangsta Track.
Thumbs up (way to go, congrats, etc... we're running out). You make this shiz look easy.

The shop will be closed today for the fourth of July weekend. Huge thanks goes out to everyone out there who made this year our most successful ever, keeping us busy designing, testing, and building each and every Brooklyn Machine Works right here in the USA.

The crew over at NYCMTB are holding their second annual All City cross country race, the only legal mountainbike race series on the island of Manhattan, with $1000 in cash prizes.

According to the organizers:
• The course has been expanded to 4 miles from the 2.125 miles of last
year. The course includes more urban park terrain including stairs, paved paths with broken pavement, graffiti'd overpasses, etc., and the non-singletrack sections will make the race a bit less brutal than last year, and less repetitious.
• Please use tough tires. The Highbridge trails are urban trails, and although we scour the trails before the race to remove debris and glass, there is no way for us to remove everything. Paper-thin race tires are not suitable for the course. [Edit:That means you, racerboys]

Pre-registration is $30, $40 the day of. Junior classes only 5 bucks.
